A Brief History

"This Is Where We Are" LIne Up

After a chance meeting in Germany many moons ago, where Paul and Chris were playing the same venue in different bands, both decided it would be good to work together at some point in the future.

They both had a number of songs written, and after a time they decided to start work on them. With the advent of the new portable digital studios, they bought a 24 track machine and promptly began recording upstairs in a local pub.

One of the paybacks to recording in the pub was playing some gigs downstairs to the punters. On one of these gigs Kirsty was in the pub to watch the band and asked would they be able to write some songs with her.

After some writing and recording sessions Quecia were formed.

Recording in the upstairs of a pub proved to be very difficult at times for all concerned, the constant setting up and taking down of gear, the dance rehearsals of the local Morris dance troop to name but two, but especially so for Kirsty who was forced to sing in the ladies toilets, surrounded by quilt covers to dampen the sound. All that said, Quecia had a fantastic time recording in those early days.

The debut album was released to much critical acclaim on their own label - Deep End Records in 2001.

Again with another drummer change, Steve Atkinson came in to record Quecia II in their own studio, but that's another story........ coming soon!!!

"This is melodic rock music at its best, with soaring vocals, plenty great guitar solos and strong rhythms, but best of all is the quality of the song writing". Quecia were voted "Best New Band 2002" by the readers of "Classic Rock Society Magazine" in the UK

As yet they remain undiscovered by the masses, but have had fantastic critical acclaim. "Once in a blue moon a band comes along and simply blows you away, Quecia is that band" - Simon Gausden - Powerplay UK Rock Magazine.

They are currently preparing for the mixing and mastering of their third album.
